Privacy Policy
Postbox is built to hold as little information as possible, for as short a time as possible. This page explains exactly what that means in practice.
What we store
- The temporary address you're issued (a random string @ our domain).
- The contents of mail sent to that address — sender, subject, and message body — so it can be displayed to you in the inbox.
That's the complete list. We don't ask for your name, your real email address, a password, or any payment detail, because none of those are needed to issue a disposable address.
How long we keep it
An address and everything sent to it are automatically and permanently deleted ten minutes after the address was issued (or after it was last extended). There is no backup, archive, or export of this data at any point — once it expires, it's unrecoverable, including by us.
What we don't collect
- We do not require account creation, so there is no persistent user profile tied to your activity.
- We do not sell, share, or otherwise pass on the contents of any message received through the service.
- We do not use the content of received mail for any purpose beyond displaying it to the person who requested that address.
Standard web logs and advertising
Like most websites, our hosting and any advertising partners we use may automatically log standard technical information — such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited — for security, performance, and to serve relevant ads. If this site displays advertising, third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on a visitor's prior visits to this or other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings.
Your responsibility
Because a Postbox address is public and temporary by design, anyone who guesses or is given the same address within its ten-minute window could, in principle, see the same mail. Don't send anything through it that you wouldn't be comfortable with a stranger also being able to read.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated date at the top of this page will change with it. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised terms.
